27 June 2017
Woking Surrey Youth Games Team
Headline was delighted to be a sponsor and supporter of this year’s Woking Specsavers Surrey Youth Games team.
Young athletes from across Woking Borough proved themselves to be sporting superstars on 17 and 18 June 2017, when they competed in the County-wide Youth Games, walking away with GOLD and the Overall Borough Trophy as well as a clutch of individual medals.
Eleven Surrey boroughs and over 2,000 children took part in the sporting spectacle, which took place at Surrey Sports Park in Guildford. Over 250 children, aged 7 to 16 years, represented Woking across the weekend in 15 different sports including badminton, boccia, boxing, cricket, football, hockey, judo, lacrosse, netball, touch rugby, squash, swimming, table tennis, touch tennis and tennis.
Our support and that of others meant that Woking Borough Council were also able to offer free weekly coaching sessions across 16 different sports, for 8 weeks, for over 550 young people from Woking aged 7-16 years old.
We were delighted to play a small part in the success and CONGRATULATIONS to everyone!
